Take no offense at my comment -- we Americans used to have very ornate steam locomotives until the time of the Civil War, when upkeep simply became too fiddly. At that point, all aesthetics went out the window and "basic black" became the style.

She's still MOTHER of two princesses. It was agreed in Fergie's divorce settlement that she DESERVED to keep her title as Duchess of York, since her ex-husband has no desire to re-marry. He really, really loved her & if it wasn't for the horrid way the Royal Family treated Fergie, her husband said, they'd still be married today. He still loves her, and has publicly stated this. They are still very close. The Royal Family is utterly impossible to marry into no matter how perfect the bride is.
